Diversity

Committed to creating a safe, productive workspace

Our story began more than a half a century ago in 1972 when a young entrepreneur named Alan Burkhard was frustrated with the status quo of doing things because “that’s how they’ve always been done.” Alan knew he had to channel his energy into an outlet that would truly make a difference.

At Placers, we will continue to make our workplaces trusting places to
have complex and sometimes difficult conversations about diversity and inclusion.

Placers uses the See, Think, Act strategy when we look at what positive impacts we can have in our community. What does this mean?

  • SEE: We want to see and observe the environment and the situation around us
  • THINK: We want to think and make sure that we understand the perspectives and value where everyone is coming from
  • ACT: We want to act, the way that we are supposed to in order to ultimately make the Placers community better.

By taking the time to SEE issues and THINK about all perspectives, we are able to ACT in a way that makes both Placers and the community a better place for all!
